If someone took a photo of this very moment you might think it was a gathering to be envious of. Fancy pastries strewn across the table, delicate china with the most intricate detailing, that's of course holding some prized tea from a place I couldn't hope to pronounce.

A group of smiling, inviting, and familiar enough faces, you might think you were once there yourself.

Stood in the middle of the river I called to him,

"Paul!"

Nothing. Again.

I almost slipped to the rush of the current, the louder I tried to be the quicker Id lost my balance it seemed. Even in this moment I remember thinking how funny that is. I guess I still didn't believe all of the stories at that point.

Sparkles in the shadows

Miles of diamonds dancing into the blue of the ocean waves,

rays of a yellow golden sunset occasionally cross paths with the clouds that seem to frolick like bunnies across the sky.

It's no wonder they came from the ends of the earth to bask in it.

Like moths to a flame they gathered, never seeming to turn away, even for a moment;

the beauty was endless, captivating, illuminating.

Pebbles in a storm

Boulders of grief hang above me.

Im blinded in their shadow,

from the light shining through the cracks.

Distant rumbles tell me that its time.

The only way out is through

Hold my breath, bracing for impact.


I crawl through this stone and I feel

the weight becomes but a breeze.

I bear these lightening strikes as scars.

Not stone to get through, but a cloud,

drifting from the storms of you.
