The Dreadful Silence

Panda Anderson

1 min read

Today, the world went quiet,

Hushed voices told us to listen

Expecting to hear some truths,

Don’t you know, what’s going on?

Realisation hasn’t shattered,

Every waking moment you have?

Are you sure you sat up and listened?

Darkness has descended upon us,

Fear has worked its way in,

Until now, the noise kept it at bay,

Look to the skies, and you see what we see

Shocking isn’t it?

I felt t...

Deadname.

Panda Anderson

1 min read

She’s not who she says she is,

That’s what you’d all say,

If I had the courage to tell you,

What it is I need to say.

To tell you that she is dead,

She is gone,

She is no more.

Behind her eyes she cried a million times,

Prayed to all the gods to give her some signs,

So quiet and meek,

She’d take her life,

Just for you to say she ain’t who she says she is.

Because you see, she isn’t sh...

Troubled Poet

Panda Anderson

1 min read

You sit there wanting to write,

The emotions have been flowing for hours,

Almost knowing the words you wish to say,

Yet, they fragment like petals of flowers,

Words don't come to you as easy as the rhythm,

Perhaps a musician would have been the better choice.

You wanted your words to tell a story,

Yet still be filled with emotion,

Although you find those words,

You lost your rhythm,

Per...

Seasonally Seasoned

Panda Anderson

1 min read

It’s warm,

The heat prickles on my skin,

You reach for the cream,

Something cool to bathe in.

Today is cooler,

Warmth is there but the breeze is colder,

Leaves are falling,

Perhaps they’ll stick to me.

The cold has set in,

Snow drifts echo around me,

Setting me ready for you.

The breeze is warming,

Preheating the oven,

Bake me at 150,

To nourish your soul....

My City On Fire

Panda Anderson

1 min read

What was once a peaceful place,

A city full of grace,

Is lost forever more,

All because of this war.

Darkness descended like the final curtain,

Bombs were dropped like halloween candy,

It was too late,

For us to escape,

Sent underground like rats with a plague.

It’s been 23 days,

Since my city was set on fire,

23 days,

Since I saw my mother,

23 days,

Since I had a life.

Stormy Wishes

Panda Anderson

1 min read

If wishes fell like rain,

Then certainly I am a storm,

If those wishes would stop the pain,

Maybe then I could return to norm’,

If a wish upon a star,

Could stop me wonderin’ where you are,

Maybe then the storm inside,

Would see I need the hope,

I’d finally be able to cope.

Cope with the darkness beyond the day,

Deal with come what may,

Think of all the things I’d say,

If wishes fell ...

Together

Panda Anderson

1 min read

You, me, we,

Not alone but together,

Y’all, us, everyone,

Continually pushed together,

Differences and difficulties,

Blocks and Shops,

Culture and Religion,

More than you could imagine,

The city crammed full,

The country dispersed,

We make an entire verse.

Souls are like a poem,

Many lines make the rhyme,

It can be intertwined,

Or even flow alone,

But when brought together,

By a co...

Cut

Panda Anderson

1 min read

It was just too much,

I couldn’t think straight,

In fact I could barely think at all,

Emotions clouded my judgement,

Swirling and twirling,

Encasing my every thought,

I wasn’t hungry,

I hadn’t been for days,

My thirst was infinitely quenched,

But I knew something was wrong,

This isn’t a mountain,

This is a slight bump,

It’s not the end of the world,

In fact, it’s barely even curled.

Poison.

Panda Anderson

Pretty little things can quite

Often be rather deadly,

Insects and other bugs,

Sucker you in with their bright look,

Once you’re close enough to see,

Now they’ve gone and poisoned me....

Colour.

Panda Anderson

1 min read

Colours we take for granted,

Red, Yellow and Blue,

Without these hues,

No other colours could be made,

A symphony of colour,

May so vividly erupt,

Like a burst river bank,

When you mix these basic hues,

Purples, oranges and greens,

Bribe their way into a rainbow,

A visual spectacle,

Simplicity at its finest,

These colours can be the brightest,

Please don’t ask me how,

Surely you alre...
