Some words are forgotten

Others stick and stay

Growing mold, becoming rotten

That’s normal, that’s okay...

I promise I’ll miss you

You’ll stay a memory, that is true

I’m grateful for all that you’ve done

I don’t say that to everyone...

Why do roses have thorns?

An object so beautiful, yet dangerous, leaves me torn

But roses have evolved to have thorns, to protect themselves

From those who don’t appreciate, and only cause hell...

Man….why can’t I be there?

Popping bottles on a yacht, hair a mess from the salty air

Instead I’m stationed, seemingly cemented at my desk

The FOMO that I have is nearing a dangerous level, seemingly grotesque...

There’s nothing better than birds chirping with the early morning sun

As I leap out of bed, ready for a day of fun

I shower and get ready before I hop in the car

I have to drive to work, but luckily, it isn’t too far

It usually takes 10 minutes, sometimes less, sometimes more

Luckily today took only seven, maybe eight, but I’m pretty sure

I ride up the elevator, in silence with others

As I get of...

It haunts me while I sleep

A nightmare so dark, so deep

But what does this have to do with me?

This menacing, gigantic, bloody red tree

The landscape is barren set against a pitch black sky

The tree stands menacingly. I still don’t know why

Again, I think, what does this have to do with me?

I jolt awake from my slumber. I guess it wasn’t meant to be...

Rejection after rejection, my job hunt is a bust

But I need to find something. I have to succeed. I must

I have all the tools I need in addition to being a go-getter

The only silver lining is that after all of these interviews, I only get better...

Once the flowers bloom, we’ll be doomed

By all of the fear, that has consumed

The entirety of people, from land to sea

Affecting all of us, each individually...

Your eyes, like oozing sores, do shine with grace,

Their dripping light does spark my eager heart.

Your breath, a stale wind, warms my soul’s embrace,

Its sour kiss vows we’ll never drift apart....

Words are wasted on those who do not listen

Those who are dull and those who never glisten

Words are power, so they are to be used wisely

So I addressed it in this poem, using my words nicely...
