Addy Marie

Addy Marie

Hi, I'm Addy. I write for fun and I'm currently working on my first novel! If you know me you know that I'll forever be listening to worship music, I love running long distance (I'm an XC girly), and my TBR list is longer than the wall of china :)

Belonging

Addy Marie

I know where I belong.

With those people, in that space.

My church is my everything.

My family, my safe place.

I see most my favorite people there.

I speak up and sing out without a care.

My confidence is at its highest.

It's the best, but I guess I'm biased.

But here is my favorite part:

During worship when, together,

With lifted hands,

And hearts changed for the better,

My church sings to him; j...

Back To School

Summertime was oblivious.

Nothing outside of the present moment mattered.

Of course time kept going,

but no one wanted to see.

What day was it?

It's not like it mattered.

Summertime was peaceful.

No people, except for the ones that mattered.

Refreshing.

You can't pretend to be blind forever though.

Eventually the leaves start to change.

The sun says its goodbyes a little earlier.

The heat of it ...

Hopelessly Hopeful

I hold our little interactions close to my heart.

We have never truly spoken.

You probably don't bat an eye when I enter a room.

At least, not like my eye is trained to detect you anywhere.

How it can see that it's you simply by the way you walk.

To you though, I'm nothing.

And I don't blame you.

It's not like I'm anyone special.

Why would you notice me?

My hope still lingers though.

Do you ever ...

I wish I could take it back

I will never say

No regrets because

I question every decision.

Drowning

I wish I had never let go.

Regret siezes me, pulling me down down down,

Deeper and deeper until I am drowning in it.

And regret doesn't let go.

Unlike me....

The Mime With The Orange And Blue Eyes

The tea was cold. But tempers were burning. I wasn't sure why my mother had dressed me up in a frilly pink gown and rose colored slippers just to bring me to a lunch with her supposed "friends from the palace," but I was tired of the fake smiles and even faker pleasantries. Even as a young girl of only ten, I could tell these people were not friends and I wasn't interested in dining with them, eve...

Disarmed

The day drags on. I keep my face controlled, not letting my emotions get the better of me, only speaking when absolutely necessary. It's not that big of a deal. At least that's what my head says. Then my head gets mad because my heart says it is a big deal and... stop, don't be overly dramatic. Only four more hours to go.

In the halls people veer to get out of my way. They know I won't stop o...
