POEM STARTER

Write a poem about a person experiencing growing pains.

Your interpretation can be literal or metaphorical.

Silent burn

Fire and burn, tingle and pain, on your arm, down your leg.

Pain, oh pain, that doesnโ€™t go awayโ€” growing pains that never fade.

But this isnโ€™t about the body, not the ache in skin or bone. This is pain inside the brain, the kind that lingers, that stays unknown.

You might feel it physically, but thatโ€™s not what I mean. Itโ€™s the pain no one speaks ofโ€” the one that hides down deep, unseen.
