The house at the end of the street has been boarded up for as long as your protagonist can remember. Today, they decide to explore.

Soulstrick - Prolouge

It was a regular day for Strick as he went out on his usual hunting travels; his main hunt was for a pig. He’s always enjoyed getting the pigs due to their ease of capture. Strick dashes into the forest, cutting all of the grass and branches out of his way with his trusty sword. “I’m ready for a nice piece of bacon!!!” Ready, he is as he continues his path toward the first pig he sees. His eyes perk up like a flower after a steady rain shower while he scans his prey. He notices the size difference of this pig compared to others he's rung up before. “Why are you so much bigger? Must be the kingpin around these lands, or should I say the kingpig.” After Strick finishes chuckling at his joke, he slowly approaches the pig and stops as he sees it staring back at him with dark eyes. He is startled and almost trips on a branch he cut down before. “What's wrong with you, piglet? First, I thought you ate too much, and now it seems like you didn't drink enough water.” Strick adjusts himself as he walks towards the pig, which is still staring at him and tries to swipe to pick it up, but it runs away. “Why do they all do that!?” He begins chasing the pig but notices how fast it's going and that it's going in a straight direction, which is unusual. Usually, when he chases a pig, they run erratically, which makes it easy for him to grab them. This sudden change was unexpected for Strick, and he started to lose track of the pig. “Wow, you’re quick. I don't even know if I want to catch a demented pig like that anyway. But I am hungry, dang it looks like I gotta keep running after ya!!!” He picks up the pace and successfully manages to grab the pig. He holds onto it tightly, being surprised that he was even able to snatch it in the first place. He begins laughing at his presumed victory over the pig. “Yeah, I got you, now accept that you lost and be easy. I don’t like hurting the animals around here, and that includes you, kingpig.” Strick is unable to maintain his grip on the pig as it keeps fighting against him and breaks free. Before it runs off again, it shoots out a tiny fireball. It was so sudden that Strick was barely able to block it with his sword before the pig began running away again. After what the pig did, it left Strick annoyed, so now he continued his chase more anger-fueled than before. He doesn't care about keeping the pig in good condition for the hunt, as all he cares about now is showing the pig some respect. “I'll make you regret that kingpig!!!” He almost makes it until the pig stops running and stays stationary at a flock of leaves. Instead of stopping with the pig, he continues forward to finally get the pig, so the pig jumps through the flock of leaves as Strick makes it there. The leaves come apart to reveal something sinister beneath them. A group of people in black and purple robes chanting a name out in unison. They are all surrounding a huge purple circle on the ground and parading around it.

“Sanguine!!! Sanguine!!! Sanguine!!! Cleanse us!!! Purge us!!! Save us!!!! Free us!! Free!! Us!!” Strick pushes past all of the leaves before locking eyes with one of the ritual people as they call out to the rest of their group. “Who are you? Are you here to disturb our ritual? Are you here to stop us from cleansing this world!?!? You cannot stop us from summoning Sanguine, you cannot stop us from saving the world!!!!” Strick is confused at the stuff he's seeing, but he calms down as he realizes that these people must be responsible for that “kingpig.”

“I don’t know about anything you’re talking about, and quite frankly, I don't care because all I see is a bunch of fools doing a pretty bad demon ritual. So I’ll tell you all this: stop what you’re doing and go back to whatever life you had before this. Or else I’ll put all of my anger that the kingpig put into me and use it on your evil selves.” One of the worshippers steps up to Strick and introduces themself as Thorne.

“Excuse me, fool, I don’t know who you think you are talking to, but I don’t think you understand what you’ve done. You have just intruded on our ritual, so you must die, especially with all of that energy you came with. You’d be a perfect sacrifice for Sanguine; he’d love someone with as much spirit as you do.

“Are you the leader or something?”

“I am and I was the one conducting this ritual, I am the one who wishes for this world to be cleansed the most!!” Strick is looking at the pig as Thorne begins laughing out loud from saying his plan. Strick notices that one of the worshippers is gonna attack the pig.

“Foul pig, you were nothing but a waste of creation. Begone!!!” As he begins to stab the pig with his dagger, Strick quickly rushes and uses his sword to strike his dagger out of his hand. He looks at the pig as its eyes go back to normal, and it starts to tear up from fear, which causes Strick to feel sorry for it. He decides that he’ll take down these worshippers and save the pig.

“It's okay, kingpig, you’re safe.”

“A death sentence is all you’ve asked for; you’ll be a nice sacrifice.” Thorne begins walking towards him as he comments on his heroic act.

“You’re willing to get yourself killed over a waste of creation, over a pig? Hahaha, you are stupid. Another reason why this world must be cleansed.” Strick smirks,

“I will stop you guys from this weird little ‘cleansing’ act, there's no way I can let you guys inhabit these lands. Especially not influencing my hunts!! Prepare yourselves!!” They all get ready to fight as the pig begins to cry out, signaling the start of the battle. Strick manages to maneuver against all of the worshipper's attacks, taking them down one by one. He is not ruthless, however, as he only knocks them out. “I’m merciful, unlike a lot of other people you could've faced today. Be grateful.” He finishes taking down a few more, with only 2 more being left. Thorne pretends to be knocked out as he is secretly manifesting the power of the circle beneath him. Strick counters one of the worshipper's strikes and throws them into the other. “It's over, give up and stay on the ground like the others. It's kinda funny though, the leader was the first one taken down. Normally it's the goons, I guess not toda-!” Thorne manages to catch him off guard as he grabs his sword and tosses it onto the circle. Strick punches him back, and he lands back in the circle. Thorne smiles. He notices the smile and begins backing away until he sees the last standing worshipper grab the pig. “No! Kingpig, let him go!!”

“YES YOU’RE SCARED!! WHAT HAPPENED TO ALL THAT BRAVADO? NO MORE GAMES, EITHER GET INTO THE CIRCLE OR THIS WORTHLESS CREATURE DIES!!” Sweat trickles down Strick’s forehead as he thinks about what to do. He decides that he will keep his promise even if it kills him. So before the worshipper can react, Strick rushes and elbows him in the jaw, knocking him out and saving the pig. Thorne devilishly smiles as he finally gets his chance. The circle begins flashing a bright purple light as Thorne bellows out a howling chant.

“Soul to Soul!! Body to Body!! Life to Life!! Creation to Creation!!!” Strick barely manages to turn around before the light envelops him.

“Get out of here, kingpig!!!” Thorne completes the spell as his soul leaves his body and enters Strick’s fallen sword. It gives the sword a different, more demonic form. Strick feels his soul and body get pushed toward the circle before it all fades to white. The last thing he hears is a crazy set of voices bellowing out in laughter before ending with. “You are mine now and forever.”
