COMPETITION PROMPT
Use the phases of the moon to metaphorically or chronologically progress a narrative.
Lunar Curses.
In life, we are usually born with 3 curses- or blessings maybe.
The First Curse: Reflection
We begin in darkness, and just like a mirror held out to the world we can only reflect what is given to us. The light comes from elsewhere, the sun, the stars, the people you interact with. Leaving us haunted by echoes or memories of what we did or what we experienced. We can't portray our meaning, it's always a reflection of our consequences.
The Second Curse: The Orbit
We grow but we cant choose the shape of our becoming. It's like we always moving in circles...bound to a path we didn't choose. Some people would call it fate...the bottom line being that we're never truly free, bounded to a script written before light.
The Third Curse: The Lie Of Wholeness
We're never whole to others and rarely to ourselves. Incomplete- half shadows, never seen in total. And even when we full, it's temporary.
We are phases, temporary things. And even at our fullest, we only borrowed the light.
So maybe, we were not meant to shine. Only to reflect, to orbit, to vanish and then return. And maybe that's enough.
Maybe we were just meant to be a witness to the light even if it was never ours.
