how to bring down an empire

Life is like a sharp stick; it can be used by many, but only the most proficient can wield it with purpose.

Jordan would like to think she is of the latter. Taking every opportunity the moment it appears, moving forward and increasing her resume with each experience she can obtain.

In high school, she joined any activity that would give her college credit. When she was in college, studying psychology at one of the most prestigious schools in the country, she was gathering as much credit as she could with internships.

She ensured that she would be the top canditate wherever she applied.

And it paid off.

Now, she works as a therapist. Not any therapist, however. Jordan is currently the name of Dr. Tell-All, featuring a rotating set of therapists that speak to their clients in front of the entire nation. She's been the longest standing host on the show, being able to perfectly toe the line between jaw-dropping drama and privacy lawsuit.

Jordan has made herself a household name.

Now, she's lost that position.

A few days ago, she had just produced an episode that saw a record-breaking audience. The highest number of people in the entire show's time on air. She'd outdone all of the white men that had hosted before her, and she got high on that feeling, letting it lift her up and making her forget herself.

That's where the problem began.

When Jordan loses herself, she can't be trusted. She'd always been careful to manage it; she knew that if she didn't have control over her inner demons, she'd be ruined by them.

But for just one moment, she did. All her guardrails fell, and she was left with nothing but a desire.

She had to find her coworker; the woman she'd been lusting over for months, the one she'd never let herself think about, because she knew it would give the woman an advantage. Jordan always ensured no one would ever get the power over her. That's how she'd kept her position for so long.

She knew Carmen would be the end. But in the moment, she hadn't cared.

She'd found her just minutes later, working at her desk, and had made her move before she could even think about it.

Hours later, Jordan's boss had found her and Carmen on top of each other, half-dressed up against the bathroom sink, and he had fired the both of them on the spot.

And Jordan had lost everything she had ever worked for. All because she let her guard down. Once.

Now she's back on the job market. And she's not looking for a normal job; this time, she's seeking revenge. She's going to find someone who can bring down Dr. Tell-All, and expose the show for what it really was.

A sham.

Not a single client's testimony was real. It was all scripted.

All of the previous hosts had been forced to sign an NDA, but with Jordan's hasty fire after the incident, and her boss' unwillingness to speak to her again, she'd never been forced to.

She's free to tell the world, and it's going to ruin the show. She just has to find a microphone that will let her.

And then she'll be a household name again. Not for her position on the show, but for being the one to bring it down.
