STORY STARTER
Write a poem that includes this line:
'The mask is slipping'.
Wears Thin
One mistake, a smile should do,
Twice with the same blunder-
A simple push will remind her.
Three times? Hah- now she's really trying me,
No witnesses...and voila!
Tomorrow begins her absentee.
Oh no, oh no, the mask is slipping,
Still I giggled, I laughed,
Tonight was such a blast.
Yet with time, another one takes her place.
Perfect posture, perfect pace.
No flaws, huh? That project was mine,
Miss Lil' Competent needs to get in line.
The night is long, but I have worn thin
No more smiles, just a big big grin.
Cracked open her door- my mask falls away,
It will never sit right again after today.
