Writing Prompt: June 18 - "“Clouds cover the skies, rain pulls at your eyes, but nothing hurts as much as little words turned lies'"
Instructions: Use this stanza as a part of or inspiration for a poem
Little words turned lies
Words that easily would have been kept
The lack of difficulty in the expectation you set
Makes the disappointment greater
I didn't ask you to promise
You volunteered that to me
Then apparently forgot that anything was mentioned
But I remembered and hoped
I knew better than to trust
How many times before?
But you were serious this time - no, really
Except you weren't
You think it's enough
To adhere to the big things
The once a year blowout things
But I'd prefer that the little words had truth and dependability.
