WRITING OBSTACLE

Choose a lyric from a song and let it inspire you to write a fantasy story.

It can be any lyric you like, but the story should still fit the fantasy genre so consider which lyrics might work best for this.

Psst.. I see dead people

The kingdom of light brings many beauties, and my siblings were all rewarded with some of the best beauties that our gods could've ever given any individual of our kind.

High Fae, kissed and embraced by everything the light can provide. Love, life, and everything in between that continuously brought peace to our kingdom's civilians.

Then there was me...

A secret to be kept away from our people. An unwelcome presence in the grace of my own family. Shunned and silenced, to be hidden away in the top of the tower for what they like to remind me is 'for the good of the kingdom'.

But they didn't know what the moon brings me every night.

A sense of escape. A want and a need that could never be shared with my family. And as I climbed out of my window, cloaked in the royal colors, hidden by the tree tops, and enveloped in the shadows. The light from the moon never led me astray.

"Another night to be spent working to bring us back?" The familiar male voice whispered through the wind, but as I turned, I saw them. All of them. "The moon speaks of war, and if that is the case, there is more that my family is hiding than just me. I intend to make sure that we are protected." I begin the trek to the cave within the mountains through the Royale Forest. They will follow, they always do.

"Luna, we have been gone for centuries. The last war took most of us with the destruction. There is no need for us to fight again." I refuse to look back at him. His beauty was blinding, even if he was dead.

"And when the next war comes, we need to be ready. The kingdom needs you to fight, sacrifice again." The words came steadier and more confident than the breaths, as the incline gradually became steeper than what I remember from the last time I made the adventure to the forbidden caves. Though I could hear the footsteps, I knew no trail other than my own followed.

Perks of being dead, I guess.
