Fathers Day Part 2
The hardest thing I’ve ever done
Thought it would be so much fun
In a lot of ways it is, having a son
Two even, the Lord has been good
Only wish He’d given me a lot more
Patience and empathy at my core
To navigate this journey, I implore
Help me to survive my fatherhood
How can I be someone I never had
To comfort me whenever I was sad
And teach me how to be a real Dad
One who stayed, acted as he should
Showing love and strength combined
As God Himself must have designed
Yet here I am today, far from aligned
Praying I’ve done the best that I could
