POEM STARTER

The Beauty of Being Asleep

Write a poem which could have this as its title.

Be still

In the stillness of quiet, when the world fades away, surrendering to dreams, where the shadows hold sway.

Escaping the chaos, seeking moments of calm.

With hearts heavy by burdens untold,

Nestled in blankets, their fears to unfold.

In the realm of the dreamers, where pain takes its hold.

Each sigh brings release, as the mind starts to roam,

In a landscape of whispers, the mind begins to finally feel home.

The weight of the day melts like snow in the sun,

In dreams, there is comfort, where healing’s begun.

Yet when morning arrives, with its blinding glare,

The echoes of anguish may linger in air.

But sleep’s sweet embrace, though fleeting it seems,

Gives courage to face the world, to reclaim shattered dreams.

So find refuge in the silence to fold,

For in every escape, a story unfolds.

In the depths of the quiet, gather the might,

To rise with the sun, ready to fight.
