Castle Of Criminals Pt. 1
She looked around the castle room. Tonight she would be pulling off the greatest heist ever recorded. But this would be done alone. Right now she was inside. One of the smallest rooms of the highest towers. Her goal was to see something very valuable. Irreplaceable even. Most people thought it was worthless. They were clueless though. Rose wasnât. She saw it clearly in her mind. A key. A good size. Bronze with a white rose in the middle on a bronze chain. This key unlocked many things. Rose had heard-but didnât believe-that it could unlock doors to other relmes as well. Her sister had told her about it. Kath had always known things like this. Things that she wasnât supposed to know. Thats why Rose needed the key. If she had the key that unlocks everything, she would be able to unlock her sisterâs cell in the dungeon. Rose didnât know what her sister was doing, she thought her sister was innocent. Rose looked around again before silently stepping across the room and towards the door. She opened it a little, looking the the crack. The coast is clear. She stepped out into the hall. Dark. She could barely see anything. She put her hand on the cobble wall beside her. While she walked, she felt the wall. This helped her see if the hall turned or not. She cobtinued stright. So far, so good. She heard a voice at the end of the wall. A boy. She put her back to the wall and let out a slow, quiet breath before continuing. She kept glancing around her for someone before looking ahead. The boyâs voice got louder as she went on. âAw, man. Why canât I help you?â She guessed he was talking to a guard or parents so she didnât continue for the moment. She pressed her back to the wall once again, trying not to make any noise. She heard another voice. A muffled one. This one was older, a man. After he finished speaking, she heard footsteps leading away from the door. She let out a quiet sigh of relief. She made her way to the exit. When she got there, she hit something. Or rather someone. âHuh? Who are you? Iâve seen you around here before. Did you sneak in?â The boy asked. Rose hesitated and the boy saw it. âItâs okay if you did. I wonât tell anyone. Iâm Elliot. I know Iâm the prince and all, but I donât like people calling me âPrine Elliotâ.â Elliot extended a hand for Rose to shake. âSo,â he continued. âWhatâs your name?â Rose shook Elliotâs hand and then pointed to herself then at the tapestries, which had rosies on them. âRose.â He said. âThatâs a pretty name.â Rose expression seemed to say that she was thankful and surprised he picked that up. âOkay. Now that we know names, why did you sneak into the castle?â Rose traced a key shape in the air with her hand then pointed to the rose again then pointed down, the direction of the dungeons. Elliot eyes widened and he nodded. âSo you want to steal the key that unlocks everything, to save someone you care about in the dungeon. Roseâs jaw dropped slightly, surprised that Elliot understood all that. Mostly people thought she was crazy when she did stuff like that. Elliot continued. âWhat did this person do to get in the dungeons? It had to be something bad to wind up there.â Rose shrugged. Truth is, she had no idea herself. The guards that took her sister away came in the middle of the night, with no reason at all. âAh, got it. So weâre rescuing your sister who is thought to have done something wrong by ny father.â Rose nodded then stopped. She heard âweâ come out of Elliotâs mouth. âWhat?â Her expression seemed to say. âI said weâre going to rescue your sister. Iâm not allowed to touch the key, but my father never said I couldnât distract the guards.â Rose opened her mouth but the prince continued. âIâm helping because itâs a bit of an injustice to imprison someone for no reason. Plus, Iâm bored.â Rose closed her mouth and nodded, a bit of a smile on her face.âOkay then. Letâs do this.â Rose nodded, determined. âHave fun, Rosie!â He left the room before Rose could say anything about the name. She rolled her eyes and continued down the hall. Her sister taught her the layout of the castle. Rose had a great memory so it was easy to know where to turn and watch out for guards. She didnât understand the prince and his motives but she had to afmit she was, the tiniest bit, thankful for his help. There would be a serious of rooms to go through to get the key, a safety feature. When Rose got to the first room, she opened the door, looking for the doorway into the next one. She didnât see it at first, but then looked down and it was in the corner of the room, on the floor. She shook her head and went over. The door was locked.
