POEM STARTER

Write a poem about taking a gamble.

Your interpretation can include the classic ideas associated with gambling, or something more metaphorical.

I’ll Take The Gamble

I’ll take the gamble,

Even with the slim chances,

For my heart will always beat

With the revelation_ I love you_…

Now it’s time I tell what’s true.

I’ll take the gamble

For I cannot stop the nightmares

Of the lost time

If I never say the words—

They need to be heard.

I’ll take the gamble,

I tell myself true

As I walk through the gates

Of our unchanging fate—

“I love you,” I say.

“I do not,” you betray.

I’ll never take a gamble.

“For I cannot stop the nightmares/of lost time…” So true!
