The Burden of Memory

Write a poem that could have this as its title.

The Burden Of A Memory

with a thud I can hear heavy in my ears it’s as if an anchor is dropped directly into the depths of my core. The flukes violently rearranging my organs. And as quickly as it makes its self at home, The marionette string is pulled. Sending the heavy thud and lump to sit securely in my throat.

It’s a feeling I’ve felt before the tug and pull of the string, the flukes settling in.

Anchoring every vessel of my being from drifting away.
