In Due Time
We let time come in between us.
It was natural.
It was good.
The hands move patiently,
Molding is separately.
Facing our complex feelings.
Craving to to be understood.
My wandering mind scared to focus right in front of me.
Your scared of my kind, couldn’t offer the clarity.
Our sea glass opacity and our lack of audacity,
Claimed we didn’t have the mental capacity.
The waves kept pushing,
And the rip current pulled,
Till we met in a place where we’re people who could
Could hold on through the growing pains.
Could hold me like the earth holds rain.
I could be there when your eyes won’t close.
You could look at me with eyes that chose.
In due time our moment rose.
