Single strands of hair escape behind my ear and sway in the crisp morning breeze, carrying the soft chirps of the early birds waking up. A soft amber glow fills my vision, but my eyes are closed. Light beckons them to open as a tickling sensation spreads over my skin. My cheeks curl upward as they are showered in a sprinkle of butterfly kisses. A grin spreads across my face. I bathe in the rays of liquid honey that seep into my core as warmth generates in me from the inside out. I imagine my soul dancing around a fire, relishing the comfort sorely missed. Winter was long, but now it melts. Time hasn't paused, but I have. I take slow, deep breaths. The taste in the air is sweet with spring daises and joy. The sun is shining, and I'm rising with it. This is my happy place.
