STORY STARTER

'Diamonds are beautiful, but they are also strong.'
Use this as a metaphor in a story or poem
I’m no diamond
diamonds are beautiful
but they are also strong
I’m no diamond, though
some say I’m pretty
they don’t mean it
the ones who criticize mean it
if they care enough
to say something mean
they probably mean it
I’m not strong, not even a little
not physically
nor mentally
I’ve tried the gym
but I don’t eat enough protein
all the effort I put in
doesn’t matter
whatever I do doesn’t matter
I cry too much
over stupid little things
like this
just like this
I’m no diamond
but you’re a jewel
how can you care
care about me
it doesn’t make sense
and I won’t survive
if you break my heart
gosh, please don’t break my heart
I’m fragile, I’m weak
I wear my heart on my sleeve
I used to
now it’s yours
please just be careful
be gentle
I’m no diamond
but please treasure me
