Crawling along the floorboard

Moving with the rhythm

Of the shadows cast by the outside headlight

Stalking slowly and carefully

Something ahead

I’m only it’s vision

A dance done every night

With no winner or loser

A no contest contest

But life is a stake

Death moves swiftly

She moves her small frame gracefully

Placing each leg carefully in front of another

Until she attacks

And the dance is over
