"I’m only a call away." His words echo in my head as I stare down at my phone. The screen shows his contact with the call button right there.. I wipe away my tears.

Screw it.

I press the button. I lift the phone up to my ears.

He answers immediately.

"Hey, Noor," I can practically hear the smile in his voice.

"Ayan?" I sniff. "You were right about him."

The line is silent.

"Ayan? Hello! Did you hear me?"

"Where are you?"

"Uh.." I look around the large room, at the rows and rows of seats. "In my psych lecture hall. I’m alone. Why? Where are you?"

"Home. I’m coming over right now."

My lips part in surprise. "What? No, Ayan. You don’t need to-"

"See you in 10," and with that, he hangs up the phone.

10? The drive is at least 20 minutes. Longer if there’s traffic. Weird.
