POEM STARTER
Awakening
Write a poem about an awakening - it could be literal or metaphorical.
Love Letter
From slumber deep within my soul
A stirring starts to take its hold
My heart beating fast and strong
Sings the melody of love's sweet song
A symphony of joy and grace
A newfound sense I cannot erase
As if a rosebud in the spring,
My love begins its blossoming,
A burst of colour, scent and hue
A miracle that feels so right and true
My eyes, once closed
Now open wide to all the beauty that resides
In every moment, every breath
In love I find my sweetest rest
And though the journey has just begun
I know that love will never run
The one that seeks its warm embrace
Will find in it its sacred place
For love is not for just the few,
It's for many, me and you
Oh dear love has unlocked my once numbing heart
And gifted me with a trustful start
A chance to love and be loved too
A beauty I will always pursue
So I'll cherish this for all good time
A tune sung forever in its stunning of chimes
I bask in the bright halo of hope
Our fait written in the moon's envelope
You capture my sights when you aren't even around
So I ask of the heavens to grant me this crown
To hold you and love you
To kiss you and protect you
To hug you when you're asleep and sound
And lift you when you're ever down
Because that's what love does to a person
It tilts the world to reveal to you a lesson
I now can't imagine a dimension without my love
You're the jewel I found that fits like a glove
If time ever stops my love will continue
Into another existence with no harm or rescue
So all I can say now is I love you dear
Let us begin with these joyful tears
