STORY STARTER

You are a child's imaginary friend, but it's not all it's cracked up to be...
Write the story from this imaginary point of view.
Wish
We laugh, and cry, and talk
I float and fly, she walks
I’ve always been her friend—
I will be till the end
I see her tears roll down
Her pain when no one’s around
I know all about the boy
And the missing childhood toy
I’ve watched her friends be mean
And yet they cannot hear me scream
I’m always there but what can I do?
I am imaginary
My girl alone knows of my existence
But I alone am the only witness
To her true raw self
The self that’s been through hell
I wish I could protect her
If I could I’d never let her
Feel the suffering that she does
She wouldn’t need the toughening because
I would be there to keep her safe
No matter the time, no matter the place
I will never leave, anyway
