POEM STARTER

In a poem, write about a love triangle between three people.

Will you write from each person's perspective with unique voices, or omnisciently tell the whole story?

Shapes

My love for her began as a circle,

Pointless and uncontroversial

Then it deflated into a flat line,

We were connected and she was mine!

Sure the line twisted every now and then,

But we found each other again and again.

Another man entered the scene,

Love had a sharp point and she was queen.

She pulled our stings so we would dance,

Each rivalling yet hoping for our chance.

Love was on the line and worth the chase,

But she made a choice and we were in place.

The triangle was flat once more,

I was shown the door.

The world span and hurtled,

For now I’m left alone in my pointless circle.
