March 21, 2023:

I walked to the farmer’s market this afternoon and bought some fresh honey. Mom says I should use it to make honey biscuits. Maybe I’ll do that later.

June 4, 2023:

Sorry I haven’t written, the bakery has been crazy. Yesterday we launched our new flavors of cookies: blueberry, chocolate raspberry, and honey glazed.

June 7, 2023:

I attempted to make a fresh blueberry pie with some blueberries from the garden, but it didn’t taste right. Mom thinks it tasted fine…something was off.

June 10, 2023:

I made cherry scones with a cherry cake for a birthday party. Everyone loved them, but to me something seemed so plain about them…

June 11, 2023:

I think I’m losing my taste…or just my mind. This morning I prepared a chocolate ganache for a cake I was going to frost tomorrow, and I couldn’t taste a thing! Mom thinks I might just be sick, but I feel _fine_.

June 20, 2023:

The doctors said I will lose my taste completely by the end of the month. Nothing can bring it back. _Why_? What did I do wrong? How will I be able to trust myself selling sweets from my bakery when the baker herself has no clue how anything tastes!? This is cruel, utterly cruel. My life has changed, _forever_.
