POEM STARTER
Submitted by SmileyGuitar
Write a poem that starts in a cheerful, bright mood, but then reveals underlying anger or bitterness.
The Sun Always Sets
A whisper over the horizon,
A song over the sun,
A melody that leaks its warmth over all,
A story that shows us we might have just won,
A world returning to color,
The darkness fading away,
The joy and laughter that awaits,
For today is a new day,
When we all stop and listen,
We can hear the clouds voice,
When we all stop and listen,
We can hear the world rejoice,
The sky fading into blue that darkens as time passes,
The sun going up and up till alas it has stumbled,
The stars emerge from space itself,
The moon, it calls,
Then all living things returns to the safety of their dens,
Family’s reunite at last and they rest no longer alone,
When the sun has truly set and the moon truly risen,
We no longer see the light for it is resting too,
When we can not see ahead,
That is when fear sets in,
We lose hope that it will be alright,
We begin to slip from the world and into slumber we fall again,
