POEM STARTER
After The Storm
Using any form of poetry, write about an emotion as if it were a storm.
The Self-Storm
I’m the pain that whirls inside your head
That keeps you from going to bed
I grow quickly and I’m not easy to fizzle
I bounce around your head like a dribble
You can’t escape what I want you to feel
My words will make you kneel
I’ll scare you out of your sleep
and while your awake you’ll only weep
You‘ll notice a shift in your reality
That’s me changing your mortality
You’ll walk around confused
With the idea that everyone is looking at you
That’s me peering over your shoulder
Making you feel so much colder
If you don’t like what you see in the mirror
I am creep that makes you see that clearer
I might not be there all the time
But I’ll come back with the chances of a lucky dime
Your head will spin and so will I
You’ll wake up and you’ll cry
Unfortunately I must go for now
Try to not let this get you down
When I come back I’ll take control
And leave you empty from stem to toe
