POEM STARTER
Write a poem about taking a gamble.
Your interpretation can include the classic ideas associated with gambling, or something more metaphorical.
Mrs Right
As I stare into her deep blue eyes,
I think, “is she the one?”
An honest girl, she tells no lies,
She loves just having fun.
I can visualise our wedding day,
She stands there dressed in white,
My family with nought to say,
Cos I’ve found Mrs Right.
Love is a gamble - I used to laugh,
Like blindly throwing darts.
But if I cut this deck in half,
I might draw seven of hearts.
“For you, my love, I’d give my life.”
I say, as I take the plight.
One deep breath before the dive,
Then swipe my finger right.
