STORY STARTER

'No matter how much I wash it off, it’s still there. The evidence of what happened is still clear as day.'

Base your story around these lines.

My Hair Changed Colors

My red hair never used to be this vibrant.

It used to be a dull auburn, more brown than red. In the sun it shone a slight rust color.

But now it was crimson red…and the color would not fade.

I do not know how my hair changed such a drastic color.

My mom thinks it’s because I eat too much cherries.

My dad is convinced I dyed my hair.

I did not.

The first week I noticed my different hair hue, I washed my hair seven times.

No change occurred.

I then applied an array of oils and products, yet my red hair remained.

No matter how much I wash it off, it was still there. The evidence of what happened was still as clear as day…I had done something that altered my body.

For weeks, I contemplated what thing I must’ve done for my body to alter.

But then it finally clicked.

My body was tired of hearing me complain about how horrid and ugly I was. My body wanted to show that my words hurt my image.

I miss my old, auburn hair, but I cannot take back the words I unknowingly said.
