Mystery of the night,

Great winds with might,

Dreams that bring you fright.

Shadows dance upon the wall,

Footsteps echo down the hall,

With nothing there to see at all.

Whispers float on toxic fumes of air,

Something lurking, watching there,

A presence dark, a thing to beware.

The moon retreats from mortal sight,

Veiled beneath the cloak of midnight.

Fear takes hold and sparks the flight.

Silence screams in the pale moonlight,

As unseen eyes scan through the light.
