Two roads, divergent

Somewhere just south of the border

The nearly full moon barely making a dent

In the inky sky

The smallest, ice blue light reflecting off

Damp leaves on the median

Winter in Tijuana, cooler and damper

Than expected

We search in vain for street signs

To guide us homeward

And ultimately end up following one that

Heads west toward the coast

Exhausted, we relent and find a little motel

For the night

Daylight brings clarity

And also a beautiful view of the ocean

And for that, we are thankful
