POEM STARTER
Write a poem that is grotesquely romantic.
This could mean a poem that’s overly lovey-dovey, one that has a romantic theme but grotesque imagery, or something else altogether.
The H.A.G.
Obsession, it is a funny thing
It seems to take me over
My deep love for only you
You are all I can think of
All I could ever want, ever
Forever, I will always be here
My hands, stained with some blood
Oh, don't worry, it's not mine
It's from those awful people, remember?
The way they treated you horribly
I had to make sure...for you,
Forever, I will ensure your happiness
What is it, my precious love?
Why are you crying, what's wrong?
Is it the chains? Or possibly...
...No, you wouldn't miss the outside
It's too dangerous! Something could happen
Forever, I will always keep you safe
It's been a few days, speak!
You know I miss your voice
It's torture, being without your melody
I'm sure you understand, you will
Understand why I had to act
Forever, I will stay here, devoted
Oh, no, we can't have that!
Why do you insist on running?
But this is all for you!
I take good care of you!
...this is how you repay me?
Forever, I remain after your betrayal
Finally, you're staying here with me
It might have taken some time
You looked so frightened before this...
Now, you look serene, peaceful, happy
I'm glad, I'll always love you.
Forever and always, you'll be mine
