WRITING OBSTACLE
Write a story with a non-chronological narrative that takes place at a wedding.
It can be in any genre, as long as the storyline is told out of chronological order. What can this add to the narrative?
Poison
"Drink it," Ade orders, sliding the glass to me.
"What?" I let out a small huff of amusement to hide the nervousness I am currently feeling.
_He knows. He knows for sure._
"Drink it. Go on," he dares.
I furrow my brows, acting confused. "Why? Ade, are you okay?"
"Come on, Trouble. Are you scared?"
"Ade-"
He steps forward. Ade is now towering over me intimidatingly. I swallow hard and hold my breath.
_He knows._
"Did you really think I wouldn’t notice?"
I mix the poison into her glass of champagne subtly when no-one is looking before I hand it to Anastasia with a plastered smile.
"Thanks!" she gives me a smile back — a genuine smile.
She brings it up to her lips and I swallow. Something comes over me and I take it off of her, "Oh wait! I don’t think this one is washed properly. I can see lip stains."
"What?" the princess frowns slightly. "I don’t see any-"
"I’ll go get you a new one!" I walk away before she can protest me anymore.
I rush over to the champagne table and place the glass on it. I exhale deeply. I can’t do it. I can’t.
"Why?" Ade questions. "Why are you trying to kill the princess? Your best friend-"
I sit down on Anastasia’s floral sofa. "Ade, please."
"She is your best friend! She has never done now wrong to you!" He paces around Ana’s common room. "I don’t understand-"
"If I don’t kill her, he will kill Cyrus. I cannot lose my little brother."
