WRITING OBSTACLE
Write a descriptive paragraph about a predator.
Think about the meanings of the word predator - it could be an animal, a person, a completely fictional being, or something more metaphorical.
Bit By Bit
It sneaks up from behind you—and slices through your soul.
There are many definitions of a ‘predator’.
But however many meanings this word holds—it all ends with killing. Tearing someone apart. Destroying from the inside and out.
Every predator feeds on you.
Bit by bit.
It savors every bite of you in its mouth. Like a lion—it tears into your warmest center—where all the flesh lives.
It feeds on your meat.
It manipulates. It might not always lurk under shadows with fangs or claws. Might wear a cheerful smile, speak softly, and watch closely.
They gather information. Listen to you. Care for you.
You might not realize you’re being hunted, until the lights are out, and darkness creeps in.
Soon your thoughts echo with their words instead of yours.
All they need is your trust, and once they have it—they feast.
They might paralyze you. Hold you back from what you hope to accomplish.
Wisper with a venom-laced breath.
“You’ll never do it”
“You won’t accomplish”
It slips inside you and squeezes your lungs.
It drains your soul quietly, slowly. Poisons your mind into thinking wrong.
“It’s my fault”
“I’m the problem”
Every predator feeds.
Whether on your body, or on what lives deep beneath your skin.
