POEM STARTER

Compose a poem which contrasts the world of dreams with the harshness of reality.

You can choose any style that you think is appropriate.

Exactly Where I Need To Be

I thought I found my purpose,

even though the future still feels like fog.

I’ve learned—

purpose doesn’t arrive as a grand revelation,

or something waiting in plain sight.

It came as a spark.

Something I knew I wanted so deeply,

even if the path remained blurry.

Every time I find my balance,

the ground shifts beneath me.

I keep waiting—

for it all to make sense,

for the stars to finally align

in the part of me that stays dark.

I’m still stumbling through the lack of light.

It’s hard not to feel lost.

Hard to remember—

I’m becoming.

Even if I don’t see the path clearly,

I still know

I need to remember:

I’m exactly where I need to be.
