POEM STARTER
"Everything is just as it is meant to be."
Use this as the closing line of a poem in any style.
Meant To Be
When I was young I couldn’t wait
For life to change, to hurry up
I tried to make things go my way
I forced my will, I filled my cup
So many times I lost control
Of what I thought should be my choice
I couldn’t see or accept the truth
That I was but one man, one voice
In the clamor of this world, and in our heads
It’s easy to forget we’re not alone
Caught up in our wanting and regretting
Looking ahead, behind, not seeing what’s shown
Now I’m older and I realize
All I desire means nothing without you
My life, my heart, my soul searching
Is not about me — it’s about the connections I renew
No future, no past, no fear or longing
Only here and now, sharing our uncertainty
We are given who we are, together we rise
Everything is just as it is meant to be.
