"That was probably the worst idea you ever had… and yet it worked." Clementine looked down at the dead bodies. Five of them in total, including the leader of the terrorist group.

"Going for them was the worst idea?" Alric leans against the wall behind him, smirking.

Clem rolls her eyes. "Us teaming up together. The rebel and the prince." She crosses her arms and leans against the wall next to him. "If your father was to find out, he would have your head."

Alric shakes his head. "He wouldn’t. He can’t. I’m the only heir to the throne since they killed my family five years ago."

Clementine nods. "Yeah, I guess that makes sense. But he would do something to punish you."

"He punishes me anyway," Alric jokes lightly, scratching the back of his neck.

The memory of Alric showing Clementine the burn scars on his chest flashes through her mind. He was covered in the marks inflicted by his father.

Even when he was on his side, he still suffered.

"So," Alric clears his throat and stands up straighter. "You better get out of here. I got to get the guards to come down here and get rid of the bodies. Like you said, my father won’t take too kindly to the prince teaming up with the rebel leader’s daughter."

Clem sighs and smiles softly. She stands up straighter and looks up at him. "We make a pretty good team, don’t you think?"

"We sure do, sweetheart," he smirks.

"Will you visit us?"

Alric hesitates. "I’ll try."
