POEM STARTER

Dark
At every turn,
At every chance,
These people look at me with a gnarly glance,
What have I done that seems so wrong,
Was I a criminal, was I incapable, did I hurt them for so long.
I walk and walk and I lead to nowhere
The road coming to an end and I’m the only one on here
It’s better if I stay here because if I reach my destination,
I would have to deal with all of them
The people that stop and stare,
Frightened that I may go up to them and say
“ give me all your money” or something like that,
Yet I wouldn’t even hurt a fly but they don’t know that,
They judge and judge before they leave,
Also leaving me in fear of the consequences that I have never seen
It’s hard to remember why there is so much hate,
Does no one remember that we’re all the same
I may be coloured and darker than them
But don’t they remember,
That when the lights turn off
We all look the same,
