POEM STARTER

Create a poem about a shape you see in the clouds.
Sea As Sky
Upon the land we lubbers long and languish
Separate from sanguine sea and sacred sky
Yet there among the vapors, unvanquished
Float our daydreams, there our imaginations may fly!
Across the azure sphere a brigade begins their march
From each glassy horizon, a heady, heavenly gift
Bourne of brine, sea and sun, above, apparitions arch
Billowing, boundless — a pelagic procession, adrift!
A pelican with gullet full, a fish escapes its chops
Then a an undulating eel, an otter flips and flops
A zephyr-riding whale with zaftig tail, splashing
Next a vexing shark, great and white, teeth gnashing!
A clamoring calamity of clams clamping their pearls
A sparkling array of sponges and rays, spirals, swirls
Fish with swords, horses with fins, an army of octopi
Occupying the sky as the clouds go by and by and we sigh
Then the grandest of blimps begs our watchful eyes
Majestic and ethereal, the giant sea turtle glides
Gently paddling the stratosphere, its loftiness belies
Its depth and power — then come its showers — stirring awake our inner tides!
