WRITING OBSTACLE
Eager. Astonishing. Engulf.
In a story of no more than 10 lines, use these three words in any order. Try not to randomly throw them in, but think about a storyline that allows you to link them all naturally.
You Never Know
Eager to start moving, Benjamin hurried to the car and started the engine, but his two friends lagged behind.
“Come on!” he shouted.
“Now don’t be like that! You don’t know what disaster we’ve avoided by being late,” Liam said.
It turned out that Liam was right. Once they encountered the morning traffic jam, a plane slammed into several of the cars in front of them engulfing them in flames.
Astonished, they took this as a sign to go home.
