confession poem
**Confession**
In the hush between two breaths, I speak,
A tremble born of silence weak—
This heart, long held in woven thread,
Now dares to voice what went unsaid.
A candle flickers in the gloom,
Its glow like truth inside a room
Where shadows lean and listen close
To every word I fear the most.
Forgive me, if my voice should break;
The truth is not so hard to take—
It’s living with the lie that stains
Each hour with quiet, unseen chains.
I held it in like winter’s breath,
Afraid of storms, afraid of death.
But now I give it air and light:
My wrongs, my wounds, my lost goodnight.
Confession is no begging plea—
It’s shedding what no eyes could see,
A turning inward, soul laid bare,
Not seeking grace, but choosing care.
And if you go, or if you stay,
At least the night is clean today.
A weight is gone, a page is turned,
A lesson lived, a mercy earned.
