As he took his last breaths, she stared up at the inky black sky, speckled with as many stars as the dreams that she had lost. His attacker was behind her, readying a machete to respond to any attack that she may make.

She reached out, and closed his eyes.

Then, she picked up her gun. She wasn’t the type to forgive,and she definitely wasn’t going to forget.
