A fume of flying flames
eyes filled with burning pain
House engulfed in a roaring ember
Ashen ruins are all that remain
The day was one that I will remember
One of saddness
Mourning
My tear soaked sweater
Smokey darkness engulfed my life
My lungs

In the house a little boy still remained
His blackened body
Broken
Bruised
Burnt
Beaten and Crippled
Left to no use
He lay for a while
Calling and calling

It tears me apart
