a soft burn, the gentle brush with danger

it makes me shiver, excited

i feel the sensation at the ends of my fingers

the end, that’s what i want

the burn pricks at my wrist, and i smile softly

goodbye, i won’t be missed

it goes up my arms, wrapping its heat around me

it hurts, but not badly

an alarm goes off, i’m jerked awake
