WRITING OBSTACLE

Demonstrate. Incapacitate. Solidify.

In a story of no more than 10 sentences, use these three words in any order. The point is to create a story line that allows you to link them all naturally, without forcing them into random places.

Battle Of Felmont Foothill

Dorian glanced around the spacious tent, meeting eyes with the other generals and captains sitting around the oak table bearing a generous map of the region. The generals murmured among themselves, though Dorian kept his peace.

“We are **incapacitated**, Velkaroth surrounds us,” muttered General Tharek, pale and shaken, to Captain Corven Malrick grim and brooding.

In swept High General Galadrian Vexmont, and conversation died.

“Gentlemen,” began The High General with a smile, “gentlemen, here we stand at death’s door again. Remember Ictain’s pass this night, remember Calantor’s walls. On the morrow we once again **demonstrate** our commitment and our courage. Tharek your pikemen will hold back and form a defensive barrier to **solidify** our foothold and Malrick your elite bowmen will pick off enemy leaders from the top of our humble hill. Dorian your battle mages will be our offense, you know what to do. When dawn breaks it will not break on our broken but theirs.”
