POEM STARTER

After The Storm

Using any form of poetry, write about an emotion as if it were a storm.

Storm Of Thoughts

Thunder, rain, lightning—unsettled.

Commotion, noise… shhh, be quiet.

Drip drop, drip drop—it don’t stop.

Gloomy and cold, no sun.

Alone, no comfort—run.

Nowhere to go, nowhere to hide.

After the storm, please—no more rain.

I thought I moved along,

but my head—it spirals some more.

The wind, it blows and blows with no control.

Chaos the wind creates—

I clean the mess it makes.

With nowhere to go, nowhere to hide,

after the storm, there’s no more wind.

Brighter days to come.

It might take long—

just keep your faith.

No need to run, no need to hide

After the storm, it’s sunny a side
