(Author’s Note — This may be a bit more than just one scene in terms of acting, but oh well… for this first part of writing I’ll only do the scene one since I haven’t figured out what the play is actually about LOL so once I figure that out I’ll extend it!)

JYNN’S PERSPECTIVE — SCENE ONE

If only this world had shown me a little more mercy, I wouldn’t be here. I hate everything when _he’s _here. Why did he and I have to be the two main characters in this play? He always beats me in everything! Even brags about it, saying, _oh golly gee, Jynn, maybe you could learn something from me! _You know what I need to learn? How to make you SHUT. UP!

Thankfully, this first scene isn’t including us. But the next one is. And scenes are usually, like, five minutes long! There is no way I will be able to hold back on just _insulting _him! I really don’t know how I’ve held back until this moment, because my dying wish was always to piss on Gabriel’s grave!

Oh, Lord, I beg of you, _save me._

GABRIEL’S PERSPECTIVE — SCENE ONE

Jynn is right there… why shouldn’t I just go _talk _to her? All my life I’ve somehow been a bastard to her while trying my absolute best not to, but she won’t listen to me for two seconds before making me deaf in an ear. _Enough excuses, just go talk to her, Gab._

This seating area is pretty comfortable for a school’s standards. Or, that may be because of the air conditioning in this place… _My God, just talk to her! _“Hi.” _Wow. _Real _smooth and not awkward at all, dumbass. Now she’s just glaring at you._

“What do you want from me, Hinn?” She won’t even address me by my first name… “Nothing… just afraid we got off on the wrong foot.” That was dumb, too. She might start yelling at me right now… “A little late for you to notice _now…_” “I mean— what I meant was— I’ve just been saying things that might be considered shitty in the wrong context… I don’t mean you could learn from me as an _oh you suck _way, rather as like an _oh she has so much potential _way? Does that make sense?” Okay, that was better, but it may not be enough to befriend her just yet, more like just setting things even…

“I guess that makes a bit of sense.” Jynn’s voice doesn’t sound too genuine…

JYNN’S PERSPECTIVE — SCENE ONE

So much potential? Really? Because even with all the potential I’ve gathered up, somehow I’ve always managed to be second place in EVERY. THING. WHENEVER YOU’RE IN IT. But I can’t say that to him. I can tell he’s at least _trying _to be nice…

Maybe a bit of small talk will change my mind about him? “So… what’s your favorite music?” Hopefully it’s not something stupid, like metal that basically makes people deaf…

“I always like to listen to jazz in my free time, it’s just so… jazzy?” Wow, something we have in common! “Me too! I love me some good café jazz in my free time, it’s just so calming!” Actually, am I supposed to be enjoying this? He might just be trying to manipulate me into thinking he’s a good person, then just… I’m not finishing that sentence…

“By the way, nice costume.” He likes this? It’s itchy as hell, which is how you know it’s a pretty dress, but it feels like a dress meant for a masochist. “Thanks, I like yours too. By the way, isn’t our scene coming up? We should get our scripts out while they set things up, just in case.”

He probably has memorized everything, like the perfectionist he is.

GABRIEL’S PERSPECTIVE — END OF SCENE ONE

It’s a little concerning she hasn’t memorized her lines yet, seeing how much time we’ve had to do so. Actually, she’s probably just caught up in the piles of homework our ELA teacher assigns and other extracurriculars…

“I’ll go practice them with you, if that’s fine? I need to practice the gestures I’ll do on certain lines.”

“I can’t really do much gestures at one time otherwise, I’m like—“ and she starts waving her hands all over the place. “—so I’m not too much of a multitasker…”

_She’s kinda cute…_
