POEM STARTER
Write a poem about taking a gamble.
Your interpretation can include the classic ideas associated with gambling, or something more metaphorical.
Otherworldly Dealings.
In this casino death comes to play,
Resting his scythe after a long day.
He’s at a table with no drink or treat,
Playing with spirits he’s carefully reaped.
Cards shuffle as death places his bet,
He promptly loses but doesn’t sweat.
The bet souls drop into hell,
But death does not dwell.
He bets again and the souls fall,
Feeling risky - death bets them all.
The cards shuffle and the game is done,
The remaining souls glow as the game is won.
