‘This is how bleeding leads to beauty
’

Write a poem which includes this line.

Pretty hurts

If you want to be beautiful,

All you need are these 5 steps,

Indulge yourself in a world full of pride and contempt;

Step 1–

Become a people-person. But not just any
please others first and then yourself.

Never stop saying yes or thank you. Allow yourself to be “nice”; because there’s nothing prettier than a woman who knows when to shut up and and when to stay silent after doing what she’s told. Don’t forget to smile as your worth goes dripping down the drain along with the tears of what you had hoped would be different.

Step 2–

Be a giver.

Throw away every receipt and make sure to put a hard marker over the cost of what it took to give so much in the first place; if not, you won’t be pretty and there’s nothing prettier than a woman who gives freely without expecting anything back. Do this and you will automatically win the hearts of others and the best part is, they will repay you less than than what you paid.

After all, you crossed out the cost so that you could give and you threw away the receipt in the hopes of being seen but they don’t see you—they see a price tag.

Step 3–

Don’t ever get upset with others.

You want to be pretty—and pretty people look better with lies written across their somber eyes.

I’ve never heard anyone say you look pretty when you cry.

Step 4–

Chin up. Chest out. Posture correct. Hips wide and make sure you’re moving them side to side.

Pretty people are confident.

So even if you’re not, just pretend like you are. The prettiest of people all wear masks anyway. Just make sure to wear the right one so that your outfit doesn’t match the despair you’re trying to hide.

Lastly,

Step 5–

Ignore steps 1-4.

The world doesn’t realize it but authenticity breeds a dangerous kind of pretty.

Scars are the foundation of empires and cities.

Tears are the gratification of a life well-lived.

A broken-heart is a symptom of someone who never gave-in.

Pretty hurts. It always has. But courage comes out of vulnerability— I know it sounds silly but you’d be surprised

How bleeding leads to beauty.
