POEM STARTER
Playing With Fire.
Write a poem which uses this as the central theme.
Ember
Saying goodbye never felt so easy to me.
A kiss on the cheek, and a wave goodbye.
See you soon, my bride to be.
Locked the lock, so sleek.
Cold.
Anticipation yanks at my chest, and I think hello.
Hello at last.
Feet swiftly move toward my nest.
For rest?
I must detest, I’m free.
Free you see.
3525, your words.
Your.
Words.
Words I’ve ached all day to push away.
Words I’ve imagined calling my name.
Words full of deceit, or deception.
Words I won’t ignore.
Cause I’m free you see.
Free to be who I want to be.
Until 3.
